About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The Bell Bay Powerfuels Project, developed by ABEL Energy in Bell Bay, Tasmania, aims to produce 360,000 tonnes of green methanol annually using 100% renewable power from hydro and wind, along with green hydrogen from a 300MW electrolysis plant and synthesis gas from biomass. The project incorporates biomass residues from Tasmanian forestry and results in virtually zero fossil fuel GHG emissions, with green methanol serving as a biodegradable fuel or chemical feedstock. It features a $2 billion investment, enabling up to 700MW of new renewable power and abating 650,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
