About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

The Brevik CCS project at Heidelberg Materials' Norcem cement plant in Brevik, Norway, is the world's first industrial-scale carbon capture facility in the cement industry, capturing approximately 0.4 million tons of CO2 per year, which is half of the plant's emissions. The project received Norwegian government funding in 2020 and achieved mechanical completion in December 2024, with operations commencing in 2025. Captured CO2 is transported and stored via the Northern Lights project.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
