The Carbon2ProductAustria (C2PAT) project involves Holcim Austria, OMV, Verbund, and Borealis in developing a carbon capture and utilization facility at the Mannersdorf cement plant in Austria. It aims to capture nearly 100% of the plant's 700,000 tonnes of annual CO2 emissions and repurpose them into chemicals and plastics using renewable energy sources. The initiative targets operational status by 2030 to demonstrate a cross-sectoral circular carbon economy.
