The Carbon2ProductAustria (C2PAT) project, now advanced as C2PATplus by Holcim Austria, focuses on capturing and utilizing CO2 from the Mannersdorf cement plant to create a sustainable cross-sectoral value chain. It aims to capture approximately 750,000 tonnes of CO2 annually using innovative technologies like Pressure Swing Absorption and cryogenic separation, integrating with green hydrogen and renewable energy to produce chemicals and other carbon-based products. Originally a collaboration with OMV, VERBUND, and Borealis, the consortium has pivoted to individual projects, with Holcim leading efforts toward industrial-scale implementation by 2030.
