About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Orca is the world's first large-scale direct air capture (DAC) and storage plant, located in Hellisheidi, Iceland. It employs Climeworks' solid DAC technology to extract CO2 from the atmosphere using modular collectors powered by geothermal energy, and the captured CO2 is permanently mineralized underground in partnership with Carbfix. Operational since 2021, Orca captures up to 4,000 metric tons of CO2 per year, serving as a blueprint for scaling carbon removal technologies globally.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
