About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The COURSE50 project develops technologies to reduce CO2 emissions from steelworks by approximately 30% using hydrogen reduction in blast furnaces and efficient CO2 capture from exhaust gases, while maximizing existing facilities. Phase 1 (2008-2017) completed testing in an experimental furnace, and Phase 2 (2018-2025) focuses on demonstration towards commercial scale by 2030. Supported by public and private funds, it aims for widespread adoption by 2050 to contribute to Japan's carbon neutrality goals.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
