About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Eastman Chemical Company's molecular recycling facility in Kingsport, Tennessee, employs methanolysis technology to convert hard-to-recycle PET and other plastic waste into molecular building blocks for producing new high-quality plastics. Following pilot testing, the commercial plant achieved initial production in March 2024 and is currently ramping up to a capacity of 110,000 metric tons of waste plastics per year. This process supports circular economy goals by reducing reliance on virgin materials and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
