About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

The George Olah Renewable Methanol Plant, located in Svartsengi, Iceland, is the world's first industrial-scale facility to produce renewable methanol by converting CO2 from a geothermal power plant's flue gas and hydrogen from renewable electrolysis. Commissioned in 2012 by Carbon Recycling International, it currently operates at a capacity of 4,000 metric tons of methanol per year, recycling about 5,600 metric tons of CO2 annually. The project demonstrates scalable technology for carbon capture and utilization, achieving 80-90% CO2 emission reductions compared to fossil fuels.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
