The Glencore Nikkelverk HCl plant project features an alkaline electrolyser system supplied by Nel Hydrogen to produce green hydrogen for hydrochloric acid production in nickel refining at the Kristiansand facility in Norway. This replaces conventional hydrogen production methods, contributing to reduced carbon emissions in the chemicals sector. The system was ordered in 2022, delivered in 2023, and is now operational as part of Glencore's sustainability efforts.
