About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
HBIS is developing a hydrogen Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) demonstration plant in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei province, China. Construction began in 2021 on the first phase, which produces 0.6 Mt of iron per year using hydrogen-enriched coke oven offgases with more than 60% hydrogen blending, and was completed in 2023. The second phase plans to expand capacity by an additional 0.6 Mt per year using hydrogen produced through electrolysis powered by renewables.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
