JenErgieReal is a real-world laboratory for the energy transition in Jena, Germany, led by Stadtwerke Jena in collaboration with partners from science, housing, industry, and the municipality. The project integrates energy production, storage, and consumption into a virtual power plant to provide sustainable and cost-effective electricity and heat supply for urban areas. It aims to serve as a blueprint for holistic urban energy systems through practical implementation and interdisciplinary research until 2027.
