About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The Kapuni Green Hydrogen Project is a joint venture between Ballance Agri-Nutrients and Hiringa Energy to develop a renewable hydrogen hub at the Kapuni site in Taranaki, New Zealand. It involves installing four wind turbines to generate renewable electricity for an electrolyser that produces green hydrogen, which will be used to manufacture low-carbon ammonia and 7,000 tonnes of urea annually at Ballance's existing fertilizer plant. The project aims to decarbonize fertilizer production and is scheduled to start operations in 2026.
