Taiheiyo Cement has implemented a CO2 capture demonstration project at its Kumagaya plant in Kumagaya City, Saitama, Japan. The carbon capture and storage (CCS) installation, completed as of 2023, is currently capturing 3.7 kt CO2 per year using chemical absorption technology supplied by UK-based Carbon Clean via Japan-based Marubeni Protechs.
