About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Valeo Systemes Thermiques plans to build a new battery cooler production line for electric vehicles using laser welding to replace energy-intensive controlled atmosphere brazing, reducing energy consumption by 50%, material thickness by 20%, and enhancing recyclability with 40% recycled aluminium content. This innovation addresses aluminium's high CO2 footprint while improving thermal management for EV batteries. Over its 10-year operational lifetime starting 2027, producing three million units will avoid 223,570 tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
