About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The AdriatiCO2 project, led by Marcegaglia Ravenna S.p.A., aims to reduce CO2 emissions in the Ravenna industrial district using innovative Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) technologies, including the first Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) in Italy and Southern Europe, achieving a net carbon-negative footprint. It integrates CCUS in a cogeneration plant and green Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) production using biochar and biomethane, capturing up to 112,000 tonnes of CO2 annually from flue gases. The project aligns with the European Green Deal and REPowerEU Plan, contributing to net-zero targets and providing a scalable decarbonization model for the steel sector.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
