About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Eastman Chemical Company is investing $1.3 billion in a second U.S. molecular recycling facility in Longview, Texas, to process 110,000 metric tons of hard-to-recycle plastic waste into virgin-quality PET materials each year. This project decarbonizes PET production by using advanced chemical recycling techniques, reducing fossil resource use by over 50% compared to traditional methods, and supports circular economy goals by diverting waste from landfills and incineration. It will create over 200 full-time jobs and provide sustainable feedstocks for packaging, textiles, and other industries, with PepsiCo as an early adopter.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
