About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Project Bison is a planned multi-megaton direct air capture (DAC) facility in Wyoming, utilizing CarbonCapture Inc.'s modular DAC systems to remove CO2 from the atmosphere and store it permanently in deep saline aquifers through partner Frontier Carbon Solutions. The project aimed to capture 5 million metric tons of CO2 annually by 2030, starting with 12,000 tons in 2025 and scaling up, supported by federal funding and local initiatives to boost the economy and achieve carbon negativity. However, in September 2024, development was paused due to competition for renewable energy resources from data centers, with intentions to relocate to another state.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
