About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

The Recyclage Carbone Varennes project employs advanced gasification and catalysis technology to transform non-recyclable waste and forestry residues into biofuels and renewable hydrogen. Acquired by StormFisher Hydrogen in 2025 from Enerkem, it is being repurposed into North America's first large-scale low-carbon methanol plant, producing 77,000 tonnes annually using green hydrogen and captured CO2. The facility supports emission reductions and sustainable fuel supply for maritime, aviation, and chemical industries.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
