About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Union Pacific has increased use of low-carbon fuels including renewable diesel and biodiesel blends in its locomotive fleet, reaching 6.1% of total diesel in 2023. Collaborations with manufacturers led to certifications for higher blends up to 50% renewable diesel. Evidence: "In 2023, our consumption of low-carbon fuels reached 6.1% of total diesel used, up from 4.5% in 2022... led to both major locomotive manufacturers certifying the utilization of blends of up to 50% renewable diesel and 11% biofuel in locomotives." — https://www.up.com/news/service/reduce-carbon-footprint-it-250501
