About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

WM owns and operates the Salem Renewable Natural Gas Facility at its Opelika-area landfill in Alabama, converting captured landfill gas into RNG for pipeline injection and fleet use. This insetting project reduces WM's direct Scope 1 emissions from landfill operations while providing renewable fuel for its collection fleet. Evidence: "The $50 million WM Salem Renewable Natural Gas Facility is expected to generate approximately 750,000 MMBtu per year of RNG... prevent more than 40,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions every year." — https://www.waste360.com/waste-to-energy/wm-opens-50-million-renewable-natural-gas-facility-in-opelika-alabama
