About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
In May 2019, TRIMET Aluminium SE launched the industrial-scale operation of the EnPot demand-response technology on 120 electrolytic pots at its Essen plant in Germany, building on a successful 12-pot trial from 2014. The system employs adjustable heat exchangers to enable flexible energy consumption variations of up to 25%, functioning as a 'virtual battery' to stabilize electrolytic cells amid fluctuating power inputs. This innovation facilitates greater integration of renewable energy, thereby reducing the carbon footprint of aluminum production.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
