About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

The Vikrell Electric Boiler & Microgrid System project, led by Kohler Co., aims to upgrade its Vikrell bath and shower fixture manufacturing facility in Casa Grande, Arizona, by replacing natural gas boilers with electric boilers and installing a microgrid featuring a 21 MW solar array and 20.5 MW battery energy storage system. This initiative demonstrates the feasibility of using renewable energy to decarbonize industrial process heat, enabling seamless switching between energy sources to optimize emissions reduction and economics. The project was expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 7,865 metric tons annually, achieving 75-90% reduction in process heat emissions.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
