About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The W2J project aims to process up to 360,000 tonnes per year of non-recyclable mixed waste in Rotterdam, Netherlands, using Enerkem's gasification technology to produce ultra-clean syngas, which is then upgraded via Shell's Fischer-Tropsch process into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and other renewable products. Originally conceived as a waste-to-chemicals initiative, it was repurposed to focus on SAF production to meet growing demand and support circular economy goals. The facility is designed to output 80,000 tonnes per year of renewable products, with 75% as SAF.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
