About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

The Xinjiang 2,500 cubic-metre blast furnace with HyCROF technology project is a retrofit initiative by China Baowu's Bayi Iron and Steel in Xinjiang, China, aimed at decarbonizing ironmaking. Construction began in June 2023, and the furnace achieved stable operation by October 2023 using hydrogen-enriched carbonic oxide recycling oxygenate furnace (HyCROF) technology. It reduces solid fuel consumption by 30% and carbon emissions by 18% compared to traditional blast furnace operations.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
