About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Rio Tinto is building a hydrogen plant and retrofitting equipment at its Yarwun alumina refinery in Gladstone, Queensland, to demonstrate hydrogen use in calcination for decarbonizing alumina refining. The 2.5 MW electrolyser will produce hydrogen to replace natural gas partially in the process. Operations are slated to begin in 2025, building on a 2022 feasibility study supported by the Australian government.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
