Sankey diagram of Hyundai Motor Group's decarbonization partnerships across the automotive value chain.

We have identified various opportunities for Hyundai Motor Group and its key Scope 3 partners, including POSCO International Corp, ArcelorMittal, @LG Energy Solution, Umicore, Bosch, Magna International, Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), Air Products, Hyundai Glovis, DB Schenker, and H2 Green Steel, to mobilize more than $55 million in targeted investments and achieve over 475kt of annual CO2e reductions across the automotive value chain.

These strategic partnership opportunities focus on low-carbon and hydrogen-based steel sourcing, sustainable battery material production and recycling, renewable energy deployment at Tier-1 supplier facilities, green hydrogen logistics infrastructure, and electric/hydrogen fleet transitions; providing robust decarbonization pathways across Scope 3 emissions in steel, batteries, components, and transportation.

Beyond significant emissions reductions, these initiatives can deliver long-term supply chain resilience, meaningful material and energy cost efficiencies (with potential savings of 8-20% in key categories), advancement of circular economy principles, enhanced ESG performance, and stronger positioning to meet growing demand for sustainable electric vehicles and premium green materials.

Collaboration isn’t just reducing emissions, it’s powering a more profitable and sustainable future for the industry. Reach out to learn more https://www.carbon3.net/
