Caterpillar: $302 million and 1.57 million tonnes across the value chain
Supplier solar and storage, renewable diesel, hydrogen steel and electrified mining fleets with its key Scope 3 partners.

Caterpillar Inc. can unlock more than $302 million in targeted investments and achieve over 1.57 million tonnes of annual CO2e reductions across the heavy machinery and mining value chain through insetting collaborations with its key Scope 3 partners and Carbon3: Neste, ArcelorMittal, SSAB, thyssenkrupp, Rio Tinto, Siemens Energy, BHP, Enel Group, NextEra, HeidelbergCement India, Albemarle Corporation, Komatsu, bp, and others.
These strategic partnership opportunities focus on on-site solar and battery storage at supplier facilities, renewable diesel and biofuel integration, hydrogen green steel production, widespread electrification of mining haul trucks and construction fleets, green hydrogen applications, and autonomous low-emission equipment deployment; providing robust decarbonization pathways across Scope 1 and Scope 3 emissions in manufacturing, raw materials, fuel supply, and downstream equipment use.
Beyond significant emissions reductions, these initiatives can deliver long-term supply chain resilience, substantial energy and fuel cost efficiencies (with potential annual savings reaching tens of millions through 20-40% reductions in key categories), enhanced operational reliability and safety, improved ESG performance, and stronger positioning to meet rising demand for sustainable heavy machinery, low-carbon minerals, and green construction solutions.
At Carbon3, we believe strategic value-chain collaboration is key to accelerating decarbonization while creating enduring competitive advantage and shared value on the path to net-zero operations by 2050. Learn more at https://www.carbon3.net/
