Applications are open for the Carbon3 2026 cohort. The cohort brings together the parties that make a value-chain reduction happen and the parties that need to account for it: project developers, supply-chain partners, credit buyers and ESG consultants.

Who the cohort is for

Project developers are the companies running a decarbonization project inside a value chain, such as a supplier switching fuel, a carrier changing how it operates, or a producer changing a process. On Carbon3 they register the project, have the reduction verified and issue inset credits against it.

Supply-chain partners are the suppliers, carriers and other partners where the change physically happens. Their data and operations are what the reduction is measured on.

Credit buyers are the companies whose Scope 3 footprint includes that supplier or carrier. They co-fund projects or buy credits so that a verified reduction inside their own value chain can be reflected in their reporting.

ESG consultants advise those buyers and suppliers on project design, data and claims, and use the registry record to follow a reduction back to its project.

The terms

The terms are deliberately simple. There is no fee to list a project, and no fee for a project developer to issue credits. Carbon3 charges a commission on trades and retirements, so the cost arises when credits change hands or are used against a claim, not when a project joins.

Verification first

Reductions are independently verified before any inset credit is issued. Carbon3 does not verify reductions itself. The project developer issues the credits once verification is complete, and Carbon3 records them on the registry, each linked to its project and its verification data.

Insetting, not offsetting

Inset credits record verified reductions inside the value chain. They are not offsets: they do not represent compensation bought from projects outside a company's own supply chain. Each credit is recorded once, so the same tonne is not claimed twice.

Claim treatment depends on the applicable reporting framework.

How to apply
